CityU hosts international logistics conference

Scholars and industrial practitioners exchanged views on trade finance and logistics at the Annual Conference on Transport, Trade and Service Studies at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 17 and 18 November.
The theme of the two-day conference, which was organised by the Centre for Transport, Trade and Financial Studies (CTTFS) of CityU, was “Big Data World of Transport and Trade Logistics”.
The aim of the conference was to gather participants’ insights into the practical and theoretical underpinnings, and open new avenues, for implementing big data in transport and logistics industries. 
Officiating at the conference were Mr Kenneth Koo, CityU’s Honorary Fellow and Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Tai Chong Cheang Group, Professor John Liu Jianhua, Director of CTTFS, Professor Shi Xin, College of Transport and Communications at Shanghai Maritime University, Professor Zhao Jinsong, Dean of the International Shipping Law School at East China University of Political Science and Law, and Professor Lei Hongzhen, Deputy Dean of the International Business School at Shaanxi Normal University.
Scholars from international universities and representatives from United Nations also delivered keynote speeches on transport and logistics at the conference.
