CityU graduate Dilys Chau appointed a member of the CityU Council

Ms Dilys Chau Suet-fung, a graduate of the BA (Hons) in Accountancy programme in City University of Hong Kong, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government a member of her alma mater’s governing University Council.

 

 

Effective June 1, 2007, Ms Chau’s appointment is for three years.

 

Ms Chau is a partner of Ernst & Young, an accounting firm. She specializes in the areas of assurance and advisory services. Ms Chau, who was President of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Hong Kong in 2006-2007, has served as an ACCA Hong Kong Executive Committee member since 1998. ACCA has 17,000 members in Hong Kong and Macau.

 

Ms Chau is active in public services. She is Honorary Treasurer of the Services Management Committee of Hong Chi Association, the largest non-governmental organization for the mentally-challenged in Hong Kong. She has been a professional mentor in CityU’s Accountancy Scholars Programme for more than 5 years. She also provides mentoring and academic-advisory services to 3 other local educational institutions.

 

After receiving her education at CityU, Ms Chau furthered her studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained a master’s in business administration degree there.
