Alarming Long Queue for CSC Work Request

by Noel Laam

The emphasis on information technology in the CityU has induced a soaring demand for computing technical support, and the numbers of CSC Work Request as well as service calls have increased significantly especially during the past few months. Together with the persistent shortage of CSC manpower, the length of the CSC Work Request queue has increased rapidly and the average waiting time in the queue is now over a month. While we will try our best to clear the job queue as quickly as possible, we would also like to ask for your co-operation by keeping urgent ad-hoc job requests to the minimum. Should you require large scale or labour intensive service/work, please let us know at least 3 weeks in advance. If we find it unlikely for us to meet your deadline, you may be advised to contract out the service to outside service provider.

Wondering what status your CSC Work Request is in now? You can now check it through the Web by simply clicking the “CSC Work Request Enquiry” under the “Administrative Services and Communication” menu on the Intranet Home Page.
