Master of Science in Venture Creation

The Master of Science in Venture Creation (MSVC) programme is designed to equip recent graduates, aspiring entrepreneurs and working professionals with comprehensive knowledge and the skills needed for successful venture creation. It is an experiential programme, which offers students valuable opportunities to engage with various stakeholders in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems and develop essential skills to convert their business ideas into viable marketing proposals.

Normal Duration of the Programme

  • Full-time: 1 year (maximum 2.5 years)
  • Part-time/Combined mode: 2 years (maximum 5 years)

Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the University's General Entrance Requirements and the following programme entrance requirements:

  • hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; and
  • have strong interest in venture creation, preferably including demonstrated involvement in entrepreneurial activities.

Applicants whose entrance qualifications were obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is NOT English should also fulfil the following minimum English proficiency requirements:

  • A score of 79 (Internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or
  • An overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
  • A score of 490 in the new College English Test (CET-6) of the Chinese mainland; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications.

Total Credit Units Required: 36

Tuition Fee: HK$403,200 (for 2026/27 intake)

Scholarships

Full or Partial Tuition Scholarships may be awarded to students with excellent academic performance. The award details will be determined by the CityUHK Academy of Innovation.
