During a chance campus visit, Mr Wong learned that some high-achieving students could not attend overseas programmes because of financial difficulties.
CityU is lucky to have been receiving longstanding support as far back as 1985 from the CMA, which has been donating many CityU scholarships due to the help of warm-hearted persons like Dr Eddy Li Sau-hung.
Education is vital to the future development of China, and access to resources is needed to ensure progress.
“We need to sow the seeds today or there won’t be any harvest in 20 years’ time,” Dr Pang said.
