Mr Wang is passionate about education and believes Hong Kong is a prime location for expansion due to its excellent education atmosphere and environment. When he noticed the high demand among students from the mainland seeking to further their tertiary studies in Hong Kong, he set up his company based on his own experience to assist students with the application process.
Having graduated with a BBA from our College of Business in 2014, Mr Wang remembers his time at CityUHK fondly. He praises our multicultural campus, which allows him to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as the many opportunities for cultural exchange. In particular, he recalls an internship in New York where he experienced a real working environment.
Other academic opportunities arose during his studies. He received two scholarships during his time at CityUHK, which he says aided and motivated him. The first was the TDK-SAE Corporate Social Responsibility Scholarship, which recognises students for their meaningful contributions to social services. The second was the FANs Awards Scheme, established by Dr Andrew Fan Ka-fai, who is also a devoted CityUHK alumnus. Mr Wang says both scholarships opened new doors for him.
Driven by a desire to give back to his alma mater, he donated to the CityUHK Endowment Campaign for the first time at the start of 2024. "I'm extremely thankful for the scholarships I received during my studies. I wanted to pass it on and give others the same opportunities I enjoyed," he says, adding that he hopes his donations will encourage future students to do likewise, emboldening them to always remember their roots and support their alma mater in various ways after graduation.
"Be brave and go for every opportunity," says Mr Wang when asked if he has any advice for current students. "Make the most of your youth and try out whatever interests you, no matter if it's sports, performances or travel. And remember to stay positive and maintain hope."
"Nothing is impossible," Mr Wang cites as his life motto. "Don't overthink; just go for it." This belief fuels ongoing participation in both voluntary social services and his professional life as he aims to facilitate and guide the younger generation to achieve the same levels of success.
