CityUHK's MBA programme climbs 12 places globally; five business master’s programmes ranked among Asia’s top 10

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) achieved outstanding results in the newly published 2027 QS Global MBA Rankings and QS Business Master’s Rankings. The University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme was ranked 86th among 424 ranked programmes worldwide, climbing 12 places from last year, and 14th in Asia. Additionally, five business master’s programmes in the College of Business entered the top 10 in Asia, with the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management ranked 2nd.

The MBA programme improved in four of the five assessment indicators this year, namely Employability, Value for Money, Alumni Outcomes and Diversity, with the most significant improvement in Value for Money. These results confirm that the programme offers a rewarding return on further studies, turning the time and resources invested into tangible career advancement, and that its graduates demonstrate exceptional competitiveness in the job market and are well recognised by employers. This is underpinned by the University’s academic strengths and highly international learning environment, together with the College of Business’s programme design, which keeps pace with current business trends and offers all-round support for students’ career development.

In addition, all five business master’s programmes in the College of Business were ranked among the top 10 in Asia: the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management; the MSc in Marketing; the MSc in Finance; the MA in Global Business Management; and the MSc in Business and Data Analytics. Notably, the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management achieved an impressive 2nd place in Asia.

Professor Stephen Shum Wan-hang, Dean of the College of Business, said, “The College is dedicated to nurturing business talent with professional expertise and practical experience. Our MBA programme has risen further in the global rankings this year, and five of our business master’s programmes were ranked among the top 10 in Asia. This affirms that our programme design, teaching team and support for students’ career development are recognised internationally. The programme is highly practical and closely connected with industry needs. Many of our graduates have successfully changed industries or relocated to Hong Kong and other parts of the Greater Bay Area, with encouraging salary growth and career returns, which shows the significant impact the programme has made in helping students achieve their career aspirations.”

Looking ahead, Professor Shum emphasised that the College will deepen its collaboration with industry through more practice-oriented activities and alumni networking events to expand students' connections and job opportunities. It will also strengthen STEM-enriched and digital skills training to further broaden students’ global perspectives and equip graduates to seize opportunities and stay ahead in the rapidly changing global business environment.

The QS Global MBA Rankings and QS Business Master’s Rankings are published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which assess master’s programmes at business schools worldwide against five indicators: Employability, Thought Leadership, Value for Money, Alumni Outcomes and Diversity. The Business Master’s Rankings are compiled separately for five disciplines: finance, management, business analytics, marketing and supply chain management.
