CityUHK’s MBA programme ranked first in Hong Kong

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has achieved remarkable success in the “QS 2026 International Trade Rankings”, securing 37th place globally and, for the first time, claiming the top spot in Hong Kong. CityUHK has distinguished itself particularly in innovative teaching practices and graduate employability:

  • Innovative Teaching: Ranked 1st globally
  • Graduate Outcome: Ranked 1st in Asia and 1st in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China

Professor Stephen Shum Wan-hang, Dean of the College of Business at CityUHK, expressed his pride in the programme’s international recognition. He stated, “With our College of Business’s outstanding teaching team, advanced educational philosophy, and robust support for graduates, our programme has successfully entered the top ranks globally. We will continue to pursue excellence, using innovative teaching and research methods to nurture future business leaders.

The “QS International Trade Rankings”, first announced in 2022, are a collaboration between QS and the Hinrich Foundation. They assess master’s programmes based on the programme’s content, the institution’s reputation, graduate outcomes, industry links, teaching quality, and research strength. This is the world’s first ranking of its kind, aiming to recognise institutions providing top-tier master’s level education in international trade.

This year, the “QS International Trade Rankings” evaluated over 100 MBA and related programmes worldwide. In only its second year of participation, CityUHK’s MBA programme has impressively risen to 37th globally and first in Hong Kong.
