Honorary Awards Ceremony 2015

Dr Norman Leung Nai-pang, University Pro-Chancellor, will confer honorary doctorates on the following four prominent individuals at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 20 November:

 

l   Mr Bernard Charnwut Chan, President of Asia Financial Holdings Ltd and Asia Insurance Co. Ltd – Honorary Doctor of Social Science;

l   Mr Bruce Cheng, Founder and Honorary Chairman of the Delta Group – Honorary Doctor of Engineering;

l   Professor Herbert Gleiter, Zijin Chair Professor and Director of the Herbert Gleiter Institute of Nanoscience at Nanjing University of Science and Technology – Honorary Doctor of Science; and

l   Mr David Harilela, CEO of the Harilela George Limited group of companies – Honorary Doctor of Business Administration.

Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming, Council Chairman and Professor Way Kuo, President, will attend the ceremony.

Media representatives are kindly requested to note the following when covering the ceremony:

 

1.      There will be two media zones inside the Hall. One of them will be at the back of the Hall, facing the centre of the stage. It can accommodate TV crew and photographers using tripods for recording and photography. The other is smaller, located on the right-hand side of the stage, and can only accommodate those using handheld video recorders and cameras. Media representatives are requested to stay in one of the designated areas until the end of the event and not move between the two zones during the ceremony.

2.      Telephoto lens is recommended when taking photos in the Hall.
