The first joint meeting of the 8th World Congress on Engineering Asset Management and the 3rd International Conference on Utility management and Safety will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 30 October to 1 November.
 
The conference focuses on engineering asset management and utility safety in the Asia Pacific region and will feature more than 20 keynote interdisciplinary speakers from around the world. The goal is to advance knowledge about engineering asset management and utility management and safety; strengthen links between industry practitioners, academia and technology providers; and promote the development and application of research.
 
Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), and Mr Wai Chi-sing, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) in the HKSAR Government, will deliver speeches at the opening ceremony. Professor Tsui Kwok-leung, Chair Professor of Industrial Relations in CityU’s Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM), and Professor Nozer Singpurwalla, Chair Professor of Risk Analysis and Management in CityU’s SEEM, among others, will give keynote speeches.
 
The event organisers include CityU, the International Society of Engineering Asset Management, the Community and Construction Professionals’ Development Centre, the Centre for System Informatics and Quality Engineering and the Smart Engineering Asset Management Laboratory at CityU, and the Hong Kong Institute of Utility.
