Event:             Asian Migration and the Global Asian Diasporas Conference

Date:               6 to 7 September 2013 (Friday to Saturday)

Venue:             Connie-Fan Multi-media Conference Room, 4/F, Cheng Yick-chi Building, City University of Hong Kong, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon

Time:               8:30am to 6:40pm     

Experts from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, among others, will discuss a range of relevant political, economic, social and cultural issues at the Asian Migration and the Global Asian Diasporas Conference.

Dr Chiara Formichi, Associate Director of CityU’s Southeast Asian Research Centre (SEARC), and Mr Andrew Bruce, Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), will give talks on 6 September. The keynote speech will be given on the same day by Dr Brenda Yeoh of the National University of Singapore.

On 7 September, Mr William Lacy Swing, Director-General of IOM, Professor Paul Cammack, Head of CityU’s Department of Asian and International Studies, and Professor Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU, will officiate at the closing ceremony.
