The SCM Annual 2013 (media tour)
We would like to invite you to cover the following event:
Date: 8 July 2013 (Monday)
Time: 2:30 pm
18 Tat Hong Avenue, Kowloon Tong
More than 70 outstanding works of art created by students of the School of Creative Media (SCM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will be displayed in the SCM Annual 2013 at the Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre.
Based on the theme of resonance, the exhibition will showcase creative artworks of many different subjects and in various media, including animation, installations, photography and film. All have drawn inspiration from everyday life, developed by fresh graduates of SCM who wished to create works that resonate with the audience.
One of the installations is made of common household items—electric fans, showing that art is not necessarily obscure or far away from us. Another represents a “banyan tree” made of umbrellas and electrical wires on which visitors can find treasures. There are also some 50 animated and live action films exploring various topics, including the meaning of life, Hong Kong-born children of mainland parents, fear, karma and death.
The student artists will be available to explain the creativity behind the projects and give live demonstrations.
