Multi-function Hall A of the Student Residence at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will be named as the Moon Chun Multi-function Hall in memory of Ms Lam Moon-chun, the late wife of Dr Chan Sui-kau, the founder of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited and an Honorary Doctor of Social Science at CityU. Dr Chan met his late wife when they were both quite young, and their marriage lasted happily for more than six decades.
Dr Chan, a well-known industrialist and philanthropist, is a staunch supporter of CityU’s development. In addition to giving a generous donation to CityU, he participates in student activities from time to time, offering encouragement and advice.
Dr Chan will officiate at the naming ceremony, and Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, and Professor Roderick Wong Sue-cheun, Vice-President (Development & External Relations), will give speeches.
