Science and Engineering Student Project Exhibition (media tour)
We would like to invite you to cover the following event:
Event: Science and Engineering Student Project Exhibition (media tour)
Date: 31 May 2012 (Thursday)
Time: 3:00 pm
Venue: Multi-purpose Rooms, 4/F Amenities Building, CityU
Have you ever left your flat and suddenly had that gnawing feeling that you forgot to close the windows or turn off the stove, and then headed back home to find everything in order?
With an increasing number of people using smart phones to go online, how we can tell a genuine from a phishing site? And with protection in mind, how can we make sure a baby sling is safe?
Answers to these questions will be found at the Student Project Exhibition organised by the College of Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). On display will be an Android camera car that captures images and video around the home and forwards them to mobile phones. In addition, a mobile app called “SiteWatcher on Android” helps users identify phishing sites, even those hidden in QR codes. There will also be a device for testing the strength of slings used for carrying babies in accordance with European standards.
Come join us and see the day-to-day applications of some 90 innovative projects. Students will be available to explain the concepts and the unique features behind the projects, including live demonstrations.
