Media briefing and demonstration

Dr Stephen Liao Shaoyi, Associate Professor from the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong (CityU), has received sponsorship worth more than HK$10 million from the Innovation and Technology Fund and from industry to conduct three research projects on traffic systems that are aimed at improving road safety and traffic efficiency.

The projects include an advanced safety system for passenger/goods vehicles, an intelligent transportation system with mobile vehicle technology applications, and a technological platform for collecting and integrating traffic information. Dr Liao’s projects are supported by local and mainland organisations. All three projects involve collaborative studies between Guangdong and Hong Kong.
