Pre-launch tour of The Rest of Us exhibition

Cosplay (costume play), a current trend where young adults dressed up in Hong Kong as characters in Japanese comic books, animated cartoons and cute or gothic style Lolitas, will be the focal point of an exhibition and international symposium.

 The Rest of Us, an interaction between fantasy and the everyday, will showcase photographs of ordinary Hong Kong citizens with extraordinary outfits taken by Andrew Guthrie and local hand-made Cosplay costumes.

In addition, CityU is organising Extra/ordinary Dress Code: Costuming and the second skin in Asia International Symposium on 8 – 10 December. Scholars, artists, performers and writers from various disciplines and nationalities will discuss the motivations and mysteries behind dressing up in everyday clothing and spectacular costume.
