With the global economy staggering amid the so-called financial tsunami, and other social and corporate setbacks troubling the government and business sector alike, the challenges facing public relations professionals have arguably never been tougher. From Taiwan’s political crisis to mainland China’s melamine-tainted milk scandal, the pressing issue now is how these crises can best be defused, managed, publicised and ultimately, perhaps, turned into opportunities. Addressing the issue will be the theme of a conference titled International Forum on Public Relations and Advertising – Crisis Management and Integrated Strategic Communication.
