CityU’s American students share the festive and joy of Thanksgiving Day

The International and Non-local Students Office of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and exchange students from the United States and Canada held a Thanksgiving Dinner on 23 November 2007. It provided an opportunity for the exchange students to share the festivities and joy of this event with Hong Kong students. It also served to further enhance cultural exchange between the many different cultures on campus.

Thanksgiving Day is a traditional North American and Canadian holiday to give thanks for the bounty that follows the end of the harvest season. Families will make significant efforts to gather for the Thanksgiving celebration, in much the same way as locals will for the Lunar New Year festivities. Traditional food served for the Thanksgiving feast include turkey, sweet potatoes, corn, pumpkin pies and cranberry sauce.
