The guests were cordially received by CityUHK senior management, comprising Professor Lu Chun, Vice-President (Mainland Strategy) and Executive President of CityUHK (Dongguan); Professor Goh Chin Foo, Associate Vice-President (Mainland Industry); Professor Alfred Ho Tat-kei, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS); and Professor Lin Feng, Dean of the School of Law (SLW).

Professor Lu briefed the delegation on the latest developments at CityUHK, highlighting the steady rise of the University in international rankings, supported by excellence in teaching and research. He noted that CityUHK has become the second institution in Hong Kong to achieve a top-100 spot across all four major global university rankings. In addition, CityUHK has been named the “Most International University” by Times Higher Education for three consecutive years (2024, 2025 and 2026). This prestigious recognition underscores the University’s proactive response to the HKSAR Government’s initiative to develop the “Study in Hong Kong” brand, as well as its commitment to attracting and nurturing world-class talent.

Professor Lu also outlined the development of CityUHK (Dongguan) in industry collaboration and the transformation of innovation and technology. He emphasised that CityUHK (Dongguan) will continue to leverage its unique strengths to inject new momentum into the development of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area as a talent hub and an international innovation and technology centre.

During the visit, Professor Ho and Professor Lin introduced the academic achievements and distinctive features of the CLASS and SLW, respectively. They engaged in in-depth discussions with the BFSU representatives on student mobility and faculty visits in areas such as Public Administration, Translation and Linguistics, and Law.

Professor Jia also elaborated on the latest developments at BFSU and expressed a keen interest in strengthening cooperation with CityUHK across various fields. Following these discussions, Professor Lu and Professor Jia signed an MoU on behalf of the two universities, marking a new milestone in the strategic partnership between CityUHK and BFSU. The agreement establishes a solid foundation for future joint efforts aimed at cultivating top-tier talent with a global perspective through faculty and student exchanges and visits.

CityUHK will continue to strengthen collaboration with Chinese Mainland institutions, reinforcing the University’s role as a bridge connecting Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and the wider global community. By promoting interdisciplinary research and academic exchange, CityUHK aims to contribute to talent development and the advancement of innovation and technology in the Greater Bay Area and the nation.
