CityUHK partners with HKCEA to host China Enterprise Career Fair 2025, offering 1,000+ opportunities and receiving overwhelming response

CityUHK and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association jointly host the Chinese Enterprise Career Fair Series 2025. 

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association (HKCEA) jointly hosted the Chinese Enterprise Career Fair Series 2025 on 22 October, attracting nearly 30 renowned Chinese enterprises from various industries. The event offered more than 1,000 job and internship opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students and received an enthusiastic response.

The event covered a wide range of industries, including finance, engineering, tourism, insurance and retail. Participating companies included China Construction Bank (Asia), Bank of Communications (Hong Kong), China Unicom, China Securities (International), Bank of China (Hong Kong), China Travel Service Hong Kong, China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong), China Life Insurance (Overseas), CMB Wing Lung Bank, Sup Retail (Hong Kong) and China Overseas Property Services, offering students a diverse range of career options.

Distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included Mr Fang Lei, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Technology of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG); Mr Yu Xiao, Vice Chairman and President of the HKCEA; Ms Niu Hua, Director of the Information and Social Affairs Department of the HKCEA; and Professor Michael Ngai, Chairman of the Council of CityUHK.

In his welcome address, Professor Ngai said, “CityUHK is committed to nurturing future leaders with a global vision, an innovative spirit and a strong sense of social responsibility.” 

"We encourage our students to explore boldly, put ideas into practice and actively participate in various career development activities, such as local and non-local internship programmes, employability enhancement schemes and interview skills training courses,” he added. “Today’s career fair marks an important milestone in CityUHK’s collaboration with industry to jointly promote talent development."

Professor Ngai accompanied Mr Fang, Mr Yu and Ms Niu on a tour of the recruitment booths, engaging with CityUHK students to learn about their career aspirations. He encouraged them to seize opportunities, apply their professional expertise, contribute to society and serve the nation.

The fair provided students with opportunities to interact with company representatives and participate in on-the-spot interviews conducted by some enterprises. In addition, the Career and Leadership Centre of Student Development Services at CityUHK offered professional portrait-taking services to help students present a polished image as they enter the job market.

Other CityUHK representatives attending the event included Professor Lee Chun-sing,  Provost and Deputy President; Professor Alex Wong Chun-yuen, Dean of Students; Professor Dannii Yeung, Associate Provost (Student Life); Professor Alan Wan Tze-Kin, Associate Provost (Academic Affairs);  and Professor Toh Kian-lam, Director of Student Development Services. Their presence underscored CityUHK’s strong commitment to supporting students’ career development.
