A remarkable Hong Kong entrepreneur and forward-thinking leader, Professor Chan Kei-biu believes education is essential to individuals and society. He regards a university, in particular, as a place to nurture talent and as a centre of learning, where students can build up their knowledge and eventually contribute to society.

Dr Gary Cheng Faat-ting is a highly successful entrepreneur and professional accountant who is keen to support CityUHK as best as he can.

A successful business leader, Dr Warren Ma Kai-yum, Chairman and Executive Director of Carrianna Group Holdings Company Limited, is fully aware that knowledge can change one’s fate. “Young people should study hard at university and devise their life plans as early as possible so that they are ready for every opportunity. They should not be afraid of difficulties because problems help us to learn and grow faster,” Dr Ma says.

A successful entrepreneur in the Hong Kong electrical manufacturing industry, Mr Benjamin Kwok is also an enthusiastic philanthropist who firmly believes in giving back to society and his alma mater. He is the Managing Director of Kwonnie Electrical Products Limited and a graduate of CityUHK’s Executive Master of Business Administration programme.

Dr Peter Ho Ka-nam, a successful industrialist in Hong Kong, commenced his close relationship with CityUHK after he sought the University’s assistance in testing material coatings for his company. He was deeply impressed by CityUHK’s technological strength and dedicated faculty.

Established in 1979 by the late Mr Chao-yung Tung, who was highly enthusiastic about youth and community activities, in particular for cultural, artistic and educational causes, The Tung Foundation is a charitable organisation committed to supporting social, cultural, educational and medical activities and programmes in Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas.

As a leading commercial and internationalised regional bank firmly rooted locally for over a century, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK) is one of the three note-issuing banks and the sole clearing bank for Renminbi business in Hong Kong. With the physical and mental health of the underprivileged and disadvantaged in mind, BOCHK is dedicated to helping those in need by supporting various kinds of medical projects.

Mr David Fong Man-hung, Managing Director of Hip Shing Hong (Holdings) Company Limited and Director of Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation, has contributed significantly to education and social welfare through his active participation in public services over the years. 

Through hard work and perseverance, prominent entrepreneur and CityU alumnus Dr Allen Shi Lop-tak founded the Brilliant International Group Limited. It is now one of the most advanced and largest commercial printing and packaging enterprises in southern China, serving clients all over the world.

The Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation is a steadfast advocate of education, youth development and community services, supporting a series of initiatives that benefit youngsters. Recently, it has funded the establishment of a meaningful scholarship at CityU to encourage students to stay positive amid difficulties.
