Departmental-level Exchange Programmes (Outbound)

1. General Requirements

• Applicants must have completed at least one year of their bachelor's degree programme in CHEM before the start of their exchange programme.
• Applicants must have attained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.5 in their latest semester or term of study.
• Applicants must fulfill one of the following English language requirements:
  • A minimum TOEFL total score of 79 (internet-based test) or 550 (paper-based test)
  •  A minimum IELTS overall band score of 6.5
  •  Public Examinations:
    • Level 4 or above in HKDSE English Language
    • Grade C or above in one of the following:
      - HKALE Use of English / English Literature
      - GCEAL English Literature (or Grade B at GCSE English Language)
  • Senate approved English courses: Grade C or above
  • Any other equivalent English proficiency result, including a minimum of 1650 SATI or International Baccalaureate Diploma with an overall minimum score of 28.

The application forms will be distributed to CHEM BSc students via the departmental email in February.

The Student Exchange Fund provides financial support to CityU full-time students in government-funded bachelor's degree programmes who are Hong Kong permanent residents.
