Department of Biomedical Engineering

The Department offers BEng, MSc and MPhil/PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering. Research areas of the Department include:

• Biomedical Imaging and Bioinstrumentation:
  Advanced biophotonics and novel imaging systems, Image analysis and image-guided interventions, Bioinstrumentation for imaging, disease diagnosis, and therapeutics.


• Cell and Tissue Engineering:
  Micro/nanotechnology for cellular engineering, Biomaterial design and engineering for regenerative medicine, drug delivery and nano-medicine, Biomechanics and mechanobiology.


• Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical Applications:
  Bio/medical robotics and control systems, Artificial intelligence for biomedical applications.


• Biosensors and Health Informatics:
  Biosensor and largescale biomedical data, Machine learning facilitated biomedical clouds/service, integrative microfluidic platform for precision medicine, and wearable/smart materials for healthcare.
