CBM Seminar Series – Visualizing the Nervous System Across Scales: from brain to body

15 September 2025

On 15 September 2025, the College of Biomedicine welcomed Prof. Guo-Qiang Bi, Xinchuang Professor of Neurobiology and Biophysics and Changjiang Scholar at the University of Science and Technology of China, to deliver a seminar titled “Visualizing the nervous system across scales: from brain to body.” Prof. Bi shared insights from his pioneering work at the intersection of neuroscience and imaging technology.

Prof. Bi introduced state-of-the-art imaging methods that enable scientists to investigate the nervous system across multiple scales. He highlighted how the VISoR platform maps whole-brain structures in non-human primates and how blockface-VISoR opens up new possibilities for body-wide nerve imaging at micron resolution. The seminar attracted strong participation from faculty and students, sparking lively discussions on the future of cross-scale neuroscience research and its applications in understanding plasticity, learning, and brain-body interactions.
