Account & Password
The EID is a unique alphanumeric identifier (e.g., tmchan2) assigned to each registered user. It is used to access various University IT services, including Microsoft 365, AIMS, and the campus Wi-Fi network.
Please contact the Alumni Relations Office (ARO) directly, as you will need to verify your identity to retrieve your unique login credentials.

Starting from 29 January 2013, the CityUHK-Net Basic Service has been made available to new graduates and newly registered users. Registered user is assigned a unique CityUHK Electronic ID (EID) in alphanumeric format (e.g., tmchan2), which is used to access various University IT services such as Microsoft 365, AIMS, WiFi, and Email. Graduates from 2001 onwards may continue using their existing EIDs and accounts after graduation and do not need to register again.
If you have never registered for a CityUHK-Net Basic Service account, you may apply for one through the online registration portal. Once the information is verified, your EID, email account name and the initial password will be displayed and the accounts will be ready within 4 working days.

Starting December 8, 2025, you can reset your password online by visiting the designated IT services page. You will need to enter your EID to receive a verification email at your registered personal email address.

To change your current password, please visit the designated IT services page. You will need to sign in with your EID and current password, and then set a new password.

To use the online reset tool, you must have a valid EID and a current personal (non-CityUHK) email address already registered in your alumni record.

If you have not yet registered a personal email, you must contact the Alumni Relations Office (ARO) to update your record before you can use the online password reset service.
You will need to contact the Alumni Relations Office to verify your identity. Once verified, you can provide a new personal email address to regain access to the reset service.
Once you enter your EID on the reset page, the system automatically sends a verification link to your registered personal email. You must follow the instructions in that email to finalize the reset.
Yes. If you prefer an in-person reset, you may visit the IT Service Desk of the Computing Services Centre (CSC) for assistance.

Alumni ID
The CityUHK Mobile ID is a digital identity launched in April 2024 that provides a secure and convenient way to access campus facilities. It generates a dynamic QR code integrated within the CityUHK Mobile App to ensure a seamless experience.

No, the issuance of new physical alumni cards ceased as of March 1, 2025. All new graduates and alumni are encouraged to activate their CityUHK Mobile ID.

Lost or damaged physical alumni cards will no longer be reissued. To prevent identity fraud, please report the loss immediately in AIMS using the “Report Lost Card” function under the CityUHK Alumni Card section. Afterward, download the CityUHK Mobile App to activate your digital Mobile ID for campus access.

The Alumni e-Card is a legacy digital identity consisting of a static QR code that was distributed via email to all alumni in September 2023. It is distinct from the new dynamic CityUHK Mobile ID.
Yes, alumni may continue to use the legacy Alumni e-Card (static QR code) to access the campus until further notice. For an enhanced experience, we recommend transitioning to the CityUHK Mobile ID.

The CityUHK Mobile ID utilizes a dynamic QR code, which is more secure than traditional static codes used by the legacy Alumni e-Card.
The University has officially transitioned to a new digital identity system and no longer issues these static e-cards. Instead of attempting to retrieve the legacy card, we strongly recommend that you activate the CityUHK Mobile ID for a more secure and seamless experience.
To locate your legacy Alumni e-Card in your mailbox, please search for a message sent in September 2023. The email was sent to all alumni with the specific subject line: "CityU Alumni e-Card (for Campus Access) 城大校友電子證(供進入校園)".
This e-card contains a personal static QR code used for campus identification. Please note that CityUHK has now transitioned to a new digital identity system called the CityUHK Mobile ID, which uses a dynamic QR code generated through the mobile app. The University no longer issues the legacy static e-cards.
While you may continue to use the static QR code from that email for campus access until further notice, we strongly recommend activating your CityUHK Mobile ID for an enhanced and more secure experience.

Alumni Lounge
The Lounge is located at 4/F, CityUHK International Centre (CIC). It serves as a dedicated venue for alumni activities designed to strengthen affiliation, networks, and long-term support for the University.
Booking is primarily for alumni associations and University departments for institutional or alumni-related activities. It is not open to the public, and applications from external organizations are not accepted.

Under normal circumstances, there is no charge for using the Lounge for eligible alumni activities. However, charges may be incurred for special cases or if additional cleaning, repairs, or replacements are required following an event.

Eligible users can submit a booking request through the online form up to six months in advance. Applications are generally considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The indoor area has a capacity for approximately 60 people and includes a high-definition LED wall, wireless microphones, and various seating options. A preparation room is also available, equipped with a microwave for reheating food, a refrigerator, and a water dispenser.

Users may reheat pre-prepared food in the microwave, but other forms of cooking and open flames (such as candles) are strictly prohibited. The provision or sale of alcoholic beverages is not allowed within the venue.

The person-in-charge must report to the Alumni Relations Office (Room 1-001, 1/F, CIC) during office hours. For events held during non-office hours, you must report to the Security Counter at the International Centre. No, the usage of the Lounge must not involve any commercial, political, profit-related, or personal activities. Users are also prohibited from charging participants any fees for using the space.

The Alumni Lounge will be closed if a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 or above is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory. Users are strongly advised to have alternative backup venues during such weather conditions.

Campus Access
Alumni can access the campus by scanning a QR code at the entrance using the CityUHK Mobile ID (dynamic QR code), the legacy Alumni e-Card (static QR code), or by using a physical Alumni Card. The University encourages the use of the Mobile ID for a more secure and seamless experience.

Yes, existing alumni card holders may continue to use their physical cards to access the campus. However, the University is gradually phasing out all physical cards in favor of the digital Mobile ID.

Yes, your CityUHK Affinity Credit Card can be used as a valid proof of identity to access and enjoy benefits at several specific campus facilities. You may present your principal credit card to access the swimming pool, gain entry to the City Chinese Restaurant during non-peak hours, and receive discounts at the campus bookshop. Furthermore, cardholders are eligible for a discounted parking rate during designated off-peak hours.
For general entry into the campus through the main gate scanners, you should use the CityUHK Mobile ID.

Yes, guests of alumni, including parents and friends, are welcome to visit CityUHK, but they will need to register at the University entrance.
You can bring at most 11 guests with you, total 12 persons onto the campus.
Your parents may visit the CityUHK campus independently by following the university's visitor access procedures.
Visitors who are not specifically invited by a university department may pre-register for a planned visit at least three working days in advance. Once registered, they must present their HKID or passport along with their Visitor QR code to the security staff at the campus entrance for verification on the day of their visit.
Please be mindful of the following details regarding their visit:
• Registration Timing: The planned visit must be made within one week of the registration.
• Facility Access: University canteens and most facilities are restricted to CityUHK members and are not open to the general public or unregistered visitors.
• Invited Guests: If they are visiting as guests of a specific department, that department will issue a Visitor QR code and remain responsible for them during their stay.

Change of Personal Particulars
Keeping your records current ensures that the University’s central records remain accurate for several important reasons:
- Your personal information on official academic documents is correct
- You receive relevant benefits and updates as an alumnus
- Continued access to alumni services such as campus Wi-Fi, Mobile ID, online password reset, and more
You should download the Change of Personal Particulars form, complete it, and return it to the ARO Service Counter in person. ARO office is located at Room 1-001, 1/F, CityUHK International Centre, 22 Cornwall Street, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon.

Subscribers to the Reader package may access the Run Run Shaw Library and use its collections on-site without borrowing privileges. The Borrower package allows you to access the library and borrow up to 10 items for a period of 30 days.

Yes, alumni can scan their CityUHK Mobile ID or tap their Alumni Card at the kiosks in City Express (5/F, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Complex).
CityUHK Credit Card is an affinity card offered by CityUHK and Hang Seng Bank. Part of the total spending from the Principal and Supplementary Cards will be donated to CityUHK for support of campus enhancement projects and student activities. To apply for the CityUHK Credit Card, you should contact Hang Seng Bank directly.
