Alumni Association and Department Host "Sharing and Inspiration" Event

On April 13, the Department’s Alumni Association (CITYUCOMAA) and the Department co-organized an event themed "Sharing and Inspiration." The event facilitated in-depth conversations between alumni and students, who were eager to gain insights from their predecessors.
Three distinguished postgraduate alumni shared their valuable experiences and thought-provoking perspectives gained from their professional journeys and career development. Vicky Lau, a 2012 MACNM graduate and veteran media professional, discussed the evolution of Hong Kong’s media landscape and the impact of AI technology on the industry. Ricky Choy, a 2017 MACNM alumnus and acclaimed documentary and television producer and director, spoke about her contributions to internationally recognized film and television projects. Joyce Chan, who graduated in 2012 from MACNM, recounted her ascent in Hong Kong, detailing how she realized her media aspirations and later transitioned into a leadership role in the financial sector, thus beginning a new chapter in her career.
The event sparked significant interest among the student attendees, who engaged in discussions with the speakers on various topics, including media development in Hong Kong, career planning, and the local workplace culture.
Looking ahead, the COM Alumni Association plans to organize more themed activities in partnership with the Department to further support alumni in their personal and professional development.
