Seminar on Why AI-Driven Future requires Lawyers who Speak “Tech?”
CityUHK School of Law, in cooperation with International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) KnowledgeNet Hong Kong Chapter, held the event - Why AI-Driven Future requires Lawyers who Speak “Tech?” on 24 April 2026. The event aimed to broaden our students’ career horizons and open up more opportunities for them. Professor HE Tianxiang (LLM Programme Director) delivered a welcoming remark to the participants.
The session featured a keynote presentation by Ms. Fiona Lai (Assistant Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Legal), PCPD). Following the presentation, a panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Chandy Ye (Vice Chairlady, Hong Kong China Network Security Association and Co-Chair, IAPP KnowledgeNet Hong Kong Chapter). The panel brought together diverse industry perspectives:

- Ms. Veronica Wang (Vice President, APAC Privacy and Data Protection, BlackRock)

- Mr. James Zhang (APAC Data Protection and Privacy Counsel, Global Leading Luxury Goods Group)
The participants gained insights into the data privacy sector and discovered how IAPP professional certifications serve as a gateway to a worldwide network of industry experts.
