Hong Kong strengthens its role in materials research

Professor Xun-Li Wang, Chair Professor in the Department of Physics at the CityUHK, was recently awarded the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award and has just won five-year funding from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council’s (RGC) Areas of Excellence Scheme. Croucher News last interviewed Professor Wang in 2024. They recently caught up with him again to hear more about these latest awards.

Stepping into the University of Cambridge, CityUHK Physics graduate Luo Zhihao eagerly anticipated the next chapter of his academic journey. As one of the inaugural cohort of 12 students to receive a scholarship from CityUHK to pursue their master’s degrees at Cambridge, he is undertaking a Research Master’s degree in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at Cambridge.
