A number of creative scientific projects from students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong was selected to proceed to Stage 2 of the Synergistic Innovation Scheme. Their outstanding performances have won approval from local industrialists and professors in the Faculty. By joining the scheme, participants need to create innovative scientific ideas that apply to daily life and turn their ideas into applicable technology by integrating scientific knowledge.

During the sharing session the judges will talk about the progress of the activity and the performances of the participants. There will be demonstrations of projects in progress and participants will share their experiences conducting research during Stage 1. One of the projects, a user-friendly Flash-based web builder “FLABER”, will be competing for the Adobe Max Award 2006 in Las Vegas, US, this October. The other two demonstrations are functions of an intelligent rescue system for hikers and a stereo-video capturing and displaying system.
