Latest Strategic Plan champions CityUHK’s commitment to ‘Innovating into the Future’
A beacon of youthful innovation, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has proudly unveiled its latest Strategic Plan, an ambitious blueprint for a visionary path forward. Supported by five strategic dimensions, Strategic Plan 2025-30: Innovating into the Future will empower CityUHK and its leadership teams to excel.
Five guiding concepts are embedded in the Plan’s tag “I In-NO-VA-TE”, they are:
• Guiding Inspirations
• Innovating Innovation
• Expanding Networks & Outreach
• Maintaining Vigilance in Administration & Governance
• Attracting and Nurturing Talents & Experts
These principles address societal needs within a world perpetually set in motion, where challenges and opportunities intertwine globally. They will steer CityUHK towards growth and leadership, enabling us to flourish amid challenging, transformative forces. Through this Plan, CityUHK will contribute to societal advancement and enable our students to become resilient, innovative, and socially responsible global citizens.
“Our strategic vision aligns seamlessly with the 2024-2035 master plan on building China into a leading country in education, supporting its ambitious goals for advancing higher education excellence, fostering innovation capabilities, and strengthening international academic cooperation,” wrote Mr Michael Ngai, Council Chairman at CityUHK, alongside Professor Freddy Boey, President and University Distinguished Professor, in the Plan’s Foreword.
“Through our commitment to innovation and excellence, we contribute to the national vision of establishing world-class universities and nurturing talent for the new era,” they added.
The Plan is the culmination of extensive campus-wide consultations held between June and July 2024, which involved in-depth, face-to-face discussions with senior management team members, Deans and Heads of academic and administrative units, and undergraduate, postgraduate, and alumni representatives.
