Alumna Grace Lau shines in the K1 Premier League in Antalya

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) alumna Ms Grace Lau Mo-sheung took the title in Female Kata in the Karate 1 (K1) Premier League in Antalya, Turkey, on 17 March, after edging out her Japanese opponent.

This Gold medal performance by Ms Lau follows her winning the Women’s Kata event in the Asia Karate Federation Senior Championships 2023.

Professor Freddy Boey, President of CityUHK, congratulated her on another great achievement. “I am extremely proud of Ms Lau for her extraordinary victory in the K1 Premier League. Her success is a testament to her determination and perseverance in pursuing excellence, which fully embodies the spirit of CityU Heroes.”

Ms Lau secured the world’s number one ranking in female kata for the first time in early 2024. She has excelled in the K1 Premier League, winning gold in Morocco in 2018 and again this year in Turkey.
