New strategies for reducing emissions

A workshop introducing the Carbon Reduction Implementation and Assessment Strategy (CRiAS) for Hong Kong and the CRiAS app to environmental professionals, scholars and advocates was held on 14 August at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

CRiAS analyses policy targets and measures for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the building, land transportation, and energy sectors in Hong Kong, and proposes an integrated strategy through which the implementation of such targets and measures can be achieved.

The workshop was co-organised by the Department of Public Policy (POL) at CityU; AECOM, a global provider of architecture, design, engineering, and construction services; and the Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong.

Dr Maria Francesch, Assistant Professor in POL and the Principal Investigator of CRiAS, and Dr Thomas Tang Sek-khuen, Director, Corporate Sustainability for Asia, AECOM, and Co-Investigator of CRiAS, introduced the strategy to 90 attendees at the workshop.
