President discusses energy, reliability and economic growth

Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), delivered the keynote presentation at the opening ceremony of the IEEE Prognostics and System Health Management (PHM) Conference on 24 May in Beijing.
 
An expert in reliability and nuclear energy and an honorary chair of the organising committee of the conference, Professor Kuo discussed energy development in terms of reliability, survivability, and economic growth. The 3-day conference brought together the global community of PHM experts from industry, academia, and government in diverse research and application areas.
 
During the trip, Professor Kuo also hosted an event for 150 CityU alumni in the Beijing area and for CityU Eminence Society members, and formally visited a number of government agencies.
