Renowned novelist discusses literary creativity

The Department of English of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is hosting the Third International Roundtable on Discourse Analysis: Discourse and Creativity from 7 to 9 May. A highlight of the event was a discussion on literary creativity by award-winning novelist Timothy Mo (top left) and distinguished poet Professor Shirley Lim Geok-lin on 7 May.

 

With his opening remarks, Professor Kingsley Bolton (bottom left), Head of the Department of English, said CityU was honoured to host two such renowned guests who shared their views on literary creativity.

 

The event highlighted the importance of innovative thinking and creative expression and provided a platform for discussion on a wide range of issues relating to creativity and discourse. Timothy Mo, who has won a number of literary awards and been nominated three times for the prestigious Booker Prize, reflected on the role of creativity in literature, education and intellectual life.
