The 3rd International Workshop on Eco-shoreline Designs for Sustainable Coastal Development was held at BECoME-2022 on 3 January 2021 at CityU and online via Zoom. 12 invited lectures were delivered by speakers from diverse expertise ranging from civil engineering to marine ecology to: (1) update latest progress of the design and implementation of eco-engineered shoreline around the world; (2) jointly review latest results of eco-engineered fixtures trials in Hong Kong, and (3) refine a practical guideline for the design, production, and installation of eco-engineered fixtures.

East Asian Seas Congress 2021 will be held during 1-2 December 2021 and organised by PEMSEA. SKLMP has been invited to organise two 'Collab' sessions on 'Pollution Assessment and Management' via an online platform between October and November.

The 2nd International Conference on Biodiversity, Ecology and Conservation of Marine Ecosystems (BECoME-2022) was successfully organised by SKLMP and CityU Department of Chemistry on 3-7 January 2022 at CityU in hybrid mode. BECoME-2022 had gathered over 340 participants from 33 countries, with 184 invited talks, oral and short presentations, and three workshops on Eco-shoreline Designs, Stable Isotope Application, and Marine Spatial Planning.

During 25-26 November, 2020, Ocean University of China (OUC) and City University of Hong Kong (CityU) co-organized the Symposium on the Health Protection of the Ocean and Its High-quality Sustainable Development cum 1st Forum of Qingdao Hong Kong Marine Environment and Ecology Joint Research Centre for Young Scientists and Postgraduates in Ocean University of China.

The Marine Biodiversity and Ecosystem Safety Workshop was successfully held at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School on 3 July 2019. Experts and representatives from the University of Maryland, Louisiana State University, City University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a number of well-known universities at home and abroad were invited to attend.
