To protect marine environments of Hong Kong, South China, and the Asia-Pacific region through high quality, multidisciplinary research and innovative solutions that advance pollution monitoring and control, environmental risk assessment, biodiversity monitoring and conservation, ecological restoration, and ecosystem health.
To build regional capacity by nurturing and training environmental scientists, managers, and entrepreneurs to strengthen leadership and capability across the marine environment sector.
To support public policy and implementation by assisting the Hong Kong SAR Government and relevant Chinese central authorities in managing environmental quality, protecting marine ecosystems and advancing a sustainable blue economy.
