The International Workshop on Exotic Quantum Effects in Complex Materials

The International Workshop on Exotic Quantum Effects in Complex Materials (EQECM) was successfully held at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) from June 9th to June 11th, 2022 in an online and offline mixed format. This is the second major international workshop with a face-to-face component held at Department of Physics this academic year.

Prof. Xun-Li Wang, Head of Department of Physics gave a welcome speech at the workshop. The workshop features plenary speakers including Prof. Girish S. Agarwal (Fellow of Royal Society) from Texas A&M University and Prof. Jin Wang (Member of European Academy of Sciences) from Stony Brook University, as well as 28 invited speakers from a diversity of countries/regions including mainland China, Hong Kong, Sweden, Spain and the United States. The workshop has covered a wide range of newly emerging quantum effects and related fields.

About 30 registrants have attended the face-to-face sessions, including those from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and CityU. The workshop has received more than 130 online registrations, including those from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States.

The International Workshop on Exotic Quantum Effects in Complex Materials is sponsored by the Department of Physics at City University of Hong Kong. The organizing committee is chaired by Dr. Zhedong Zhang, Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics.
