Introducing Problem-Based Learning for the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine Programme
Dr Akos Kenez, Assistant Professor for Veterinary Physiology at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health, visited the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. During his three-month stay, he studied Cornell’s veterinary curriculum and teaching practices, with a special focus on problem-based learning concepts and techniques.

Professor David Hampson (Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health/Chair Professor of Pathobiology) was an invited co-chair of a session on bacteriology and bacterial diseases at the 25th International Pig Veterinary Society Congress held in Chongqing, China, in June this year.

Prof. Reichel (Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences) attended the ‘QS World Class 2018’ meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in April this year and gave an invited presentation on the setting up of a world-class, internationally credible veterinary school in Hong Kong.

The setting up of veterinary schools is a growth industry around the world. Presently there is another new school in the final stages of establishing itself in the United Kingdom – the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey in Guildford.
