Scholarships and Awards


CityUHK is committed to nurturing the talents of students and creating applicable knowledge in order to support social and economic development. To attract bright local talent, CityUHK Scholarships for Hong Kong Talents have been set up for Hong Kong students with excellent HKDSE or GCE "A" level / IB results applying to government-funded bachelor's degree programmes. College Medal

Eligibility: The award is applicable to full-time undergraduate final-year students who have successfully completed their studies with GGPA/CGPA 3.8 or above upon graduation.
No. of Award: There shall be ONE award per academic year. The awardee will receive a certificate and a cash award of HK$30,000. No award will be given if no suitable person is identified.
Selection: Selection will be based on academic excellence and demonstration of well-round personal qualities. Selection interviews are to be conducted by a panel appointed by the Dean. The Panel will make recommendations for the Dean's final decision.

Dean's Scholarship

Eligibility*:
  1. Top 10% students in each programme cohort who meet criteria (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7);
  2. Non-final-year students enrolled in undergraduate programmes of the Department of Computer Science or the Department of Data Science (students enrolled in the double degree programme BSc Computer Science and BSc Computational Finance and Financial Technology are grouped under BSc Computer Science);
  3. Placed on the Dean's list in either Semester A or Semester B;
  4. No failed grades in either Semester A or Semester B;
  5. Attained a CGPA of 3.50 or above, counting all the course results (Grade D or above) obtained in Semester A and Semester B;
  6. No academic standing in either Semester A or Semester B; and
  7. No leave of absence in either Semester A or Semester B.
No. of Award: A maximum of TWENTY scholarships per each year. The value of each scholarship shall be HK$5,000 in cash reward.
Selection: Selection will be based on academic excellence and demonstration of well-rounded personal qualities. A panel, appointed by the Dean, will make recommendations for the Dean's final decision.

*In the event that the total no. of students attaining the above criteria exceeds twenty (20), the College will consider the recommendation from Department Heads and students' overall performance to decide the final awardees.
