To celebrate the 100th birthday of Quantum Physics and Atonal Music in 2025, the College of Science (CSCI) and the Department of Physics, in collaboration with Carpe Arte Limited, organised a series of celebration events in November.

The Awards Presentation Ceremony for the CityUHK Science Video Competition 2025 was successfully held on 25 October 2025.

Professor Ren Yang, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, under the College of Science (CSCI), has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS).

Professor Kenneth Leung, Associate Dean (Outreach and Internationalisation) of the College of Science (CSCI), is nominated and elected as an Adjunct Fellow of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (AdFHKIE).

Uniquely and for the first time, high school students from Hong Kong and around the world can apply directly for Year 1 entry to the elite Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme (JBDP) run by City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and Columbia University, starting from the 2026/27 academic year.

Thousands of participants visited the College of Science’s (CSCI) booth for the latest admission tips during CityUHK UG Information Day, which was held successfully on 4 October 2025. For the first time, the College set up a photo booth utilising Artificial Intelligence technology for participants to capture their science moments.
