On 4 August 2026, the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) hosted a summer workshop for 20 students and a faculty representative from the School of Life Science and Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), a member of China’s C9 League and one of the country’s “985” universities.
The programme featured presentations by BMS faculty members, interactive laboratory demonstrations and tours of BMS facilities. Junior BMS faculty members also introduced their latest research, giving the visiting students an opportunity to learn about ongoing research at the department and engage in academic discussions. The programme further provided an opportunity to explore potential collaborations in academic exchange and student recruitment.
The visit strengthened academic ties between BMS and HIT while giving the students a first-hand look at the department’s teaching and research environment.
