The Career Seminar Series: From Campus to Career has recently concluded, offering undergraduate and postgraduate students valuable insights into the dynamic fields of finance and government research. Across three engaging sessions held from November to December 2025, students learned from experienced professionals, broadening their understanding of potential career pathways.
The series opened with Dr Sherlock S. C. Tai from the Government Laboratory, who discussed innovative public service careers and the transition from academia to impactful professional roles. This was followed by Mr Alex M. S. Chang of Aspenwood Capital, who shared practical strategies for pursuing careers in investment banking and asset management. The final session featured Dr Patrick Lam from HKEX, who provided guidance on career transitions and highlighted the essential skills required for success in the financial industry.
Students left each session equipped with real-world advice, meaningful networking opportunities, and a clearer vision for their future careers. The series underscored the importance of professional development and industry engagement, laying a strong foundation for students’ next steps after graduation.
