On 20 November 2025, we, the Department of Biomedical Sciences, hosted the seminar “HbA1c and Hidden Variants: How CE Gets It Right” at the City University of Hong Kong. We were delighted to welcome over 90 participants from medical laboratories across Hong Kong, who came together to exchange insights on recent advances in HbA1c measurement.

Led by Dr Ivan Lam, Scientific Affairs Manager at Sebia, the seminar addressed the importance of accurate HbA1c and HbA2 measurements in diabetes diagnostics. Participants engaged in lively exchanges that enhanced their understanding of these analytical innovations and their potential to support improved patient care.

We thank all participants for their active contributions and look forward to hosting future events that continue to advance the field of medical laboratory technology. Please stay tuned for more updates on upcoming seminars.
