The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) hosted the seminar “The Microscopic Eye: Rediscovering Morphology in the Age of MALDI-TOF” on 3 November 2025, attracting nearly 100 online participants and more than 90 attendees on the CityUHK campus.
The keynote speaker, Mr Antonio Ngan, Medical Technologist from the Hospital Authority, delivered a visually captivating presentation featuring striking images and videos of bacterial morphology, which drew lively interest and appreciation from the audience.
The seminar, coordinated by Professor K. C. Han and Professor Savio Szeto, Senior Teaching Fellows in BMS, was made possible through their dedication and enthusiasm in fostering dialogue among students, staff, alumni and other participants on the continuing relevance of morphology in biomedical education.
