Joint Research Gala 2025 a Resounding Success!

The Joint Research Gala 2025, co-organised by the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), was held on 4–5 July 2025 on SYSU Shenzhen Campus, marked another successful chapter in academic collaboration.

This year’s event brought together over 150 enthusiastic participants, including faculty members, researchers and PhD students from both institutions, to celebrate outstanding achievements in biomedical research.

The Gala featured an engaging programme of more than 70 poster presentations and 12 oral presentations, covering a wide range of cutting-edge research topics. The quality and diversity of work presented demonstrated innovative methodologies and technologies aimed at tackling some of the most pressing challenges in the biomedical field. Beyond the presentations, the Gala provided an excellent platform for networking and knowledge exchange, fostering stronger ties and collaborative spirit between the two universities.

In recognition of excellence, 12 Best Oral Presentation Awards and 10 Best Poster Presentation Awards were presented to outstanding research students and staff. Congratulations to all the awardees as listed below for their remarkable achievements!
