Open Call

This second edition of Art Machines will feature a curated exhibition with artworks and projects submitted through the open call. We are calling for works that articulate the creative space between art and technology, and the ecological, political, social, and global climates of our daily world.

We are delighted to announce that the Art Machines 2 exhibition will feature the installation DïaloG.

Created by the renowned Media artists Maurice BENAYOUN (FR/HK) and Refik ANADOL (TR/US), DïaloG is an urban media art installation, interactively combining machine learning elements. It is made of two “living” entities facing each other in the public space. DïaloG reflects on the difficulty of building a mutual understanding beyond social and cultural differences.

In the words of the artists:

They don’t look like the living beings we know

They dan’t speak any language we know

They are aliens, strangers, immigrants.

They are clearly and desperately, trying to understand each other.

The work is developed as a collaborative research between MindSpaces & MindSpaces HK/CityUHK, under the EU S+T+Arts program.
