Congratulations to Professor Christopher To on His New Appointments

Professor Christopher TO, Programme Director of Master of Laws in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (LLMArbDR) programme at CityUHK School of Law, has recently taken up new roles at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Court of Arbitration (“AIAC Court”), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) Arbitrator Panel, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mediator Panel.

Professor To has been appointed as a Member of the AIAC Court, effective from 1 January 2026. The inaugural AIAC Court is a key institutional reform initiative that aims to enhance transparency, integrity and accountability across all Alternative Dispute Resolution administration and case management processes at the AIAC.

In addition, Professor To is listed on the GBA Arbitrator Panel and the GBA Mediator Panel.

The panels were jointly established by the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province, and the Office of the Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao SAR Government. They have been endorsed at the GBA Legal Departments Joint Conference.

The establishment of the panels will effectively promote the complementary advantages of resources, the interface of arbitration and mediation regulatory frameworks of the three places and a wider use of arbitration and mediation in the GBA, and promote the establishment of GBA standards, thereby further enhancing the multifaceted dispute resolution mechanism in the GBA.
