In September 2025, our Junior Poultry Veterinarian at the OHRP, Dr CHU Yu Kwan Tiffany, had the opportunity to complete a three-week externship at the University of Georgia’s Poultry Diagnostic and Research Centre (PDRC) for professional development. During this period, she participated in lectures, necropsies, and field visits, gaining valuable insight into the poultry industry and disease challenges in the United States. The visit to the Georgia Poultry Laboratory Network (GPLN) in Gainesville was particularly eye-opening, showcasing large-scale diagnostic and surveillance systems that play a key role in flock health management. In her own words: "The experience has broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to apply new ideas and practices to my current role with the City University of Hong Kong’s Poultry Ambulatory Team; I am very grateful to UGA for welcoming me and for the hospitality of the faculty and students throughout my stay".
