Initiated in February 2025 and led by Prof. Jason Lam, SEEDS Programme Director and Associate Professor of SEE, the SEEDS Programme brought together 28 outstanding students from La Salle College (喇沙書院) and St. Stephen’s Girls’ College (聖士提反女子中學), pairing them with SEE professors and research teams to explore innovative solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. Over several months, participants gained hands-on STEM experience, honed their problem-solving skills, and deepened their understanding of environmental and ESG issues.

The closing ceremony was a celebration of this journey. Nine student teams presented their research projects to a panel of distinguished judges, showcasing ideas ranging from advanced renewable energy applications to sustainable building technologies and community-focused environmental initiatives. Their work was evaluated by a distinguished judging panel of three esteemed SEE faculty members: Prof. Charles Xu, Chair Professor of Advanced Biorefinery; Prof. Patrick Sit, Associate Professor; and Prof. Ping Han, Associate Professor.
The event also recognised outstanding achievements with the presentation of the SEEDS Awards:
