CityUHK OHRP's Guidelines for HPAI Surveillance amongst small-scale poultry holders in resource-limited settings for WOAH

During a three-day meeting at the World Organisation of Animal Health's Headquarters in Paris, held from 8-10 April 2025, Prof. Dirk Pfeiffer, Prof. Sergio Guerrero-Sanchez and Dr. Angus Lam from CityUHK's Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice presented their draft guidelines for HPAI surveillance among small-scale poultry holders in resource-limited settings to an Ad Hoc group chaired by Dr Robyn Alders for review and discussion. The CityUHK team was pleased to find that the content of the document was already in good shape, considering that effective surveillance in this particular component of poultry systems is known to be extremely challenging. The team, which includes Dr. Ladan Jahangiri (who was unable to attend the meeting), will now use the recommendations made by the Ad Hoc Group to produce a second draft of the guidelines.
